Strike duties generally involve walking a picket line for 4 hours a day, or 20 hours a week. We will allow combinations of fewer days with more hours to meet your needs. You can picket at the campus that is easiest to get to. In addition, some members choose to picket at other colleges that might be closer. If you are unable to walk a picket line due to family care issues, physical limitations or religious beliefs, we can arrange accommodation. There are other administrative tasks required.
In addition to picketers, we also need Picket Captains (leaders), Picket Marshals (Safety Officers), and members who will assist on Communications, creating Signs and Other graphics, social media, strike finances and other duties. Please see the Google Form below to indicate your interest in these activities. We also need people who are willing to “guard” trailers overnight and on weekends, if you wish to have longer shifts and fewest days.
